Samsung's Changing Plans for the Galaxy Z Flip FE: Exynos 2500 Chipset and Delayed Launch
Recent reports have revealed that Samsung is developing a new foldable smartphone under the Fan Edition (FE) series, expected to be more affordable. The Galaxy Z Flip FE has been rumored for a 2025 release, but new details have shifted expectations. The device may feature the Exynos 2500 chipset, which was previously speculated to be reserved for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. This marks a significant change from earlier assumptions.

According to The Bell, Samsung is currently developing two new processors, the Exynos 2500 and Exynos 2600. Initially, the Exynos 2500 was expected to power the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7. However, complications in the development process have forced Samsung to reconsider its strategy. As a result, Samsung is now considering equipping the Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy Z Flip FE, and production of the chipset for the device has already begun. Nonetheless, the company's plans remain uncertain, with internal disagreements reportedly delaying a final decision.

"Plans regarding the Exynos 2500 are still constantly changing," a source in the industry disclosed. "Previously, I believed the decision had been finalized, but recently I have heard that the likelihood of this happening has decreased significantly." Despite the ongoing development challenges, Samsung has not entirely abandoned the Exynos 2500 chip, and it may still be featured in the Galaxy Z Flip FE.
Regardless of the chipset choice, Samsung has more time to finalize its decision. The Galaxy Z Flip FE is now expected to be launched several months after the Galaxy Z Flip 7. While Samsung has yet to confirm official release dates for both the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, it is anticipated that both devices will be unveiled around the same time as their predecessors, possibly in July.
